Jud Caswell of Caswell Engineering has been providing MicroStation customization and support for five years.
Plot solutions:
Jud has worked with a wide variety of plotting hardware to provide precision output from MicroStation. He is fluent with MicroStation plotting procedures. Plotting procedures developed by Jud for the MDOT have saved the Department more than 3 miles of paper (and 3 weeks of labor) in the last year and a half.
Jud has been working with MicroStation BASIC since its introduction. In the last 4 years he has written more than 20,000 lines of code, developing macros that automate procedures from sheet creation to plotting and everything in between.
In addition to his BASIC macros, Jud has provided customization services that include full-featured implementation of MicroStation’s Settings Managers.
Jud has taught basic and advanced courses in MicroStation for a wide variety of users. He has developed and presented custom “in-house” courses for the Maine Department of Transportation that have been heralded by the students as “the best computer course I’ve ever had.” As an instructor Jud has received the highest marks for his knowledge, patience, and his ability to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for learning.
Jud is the editor and primary writer for the MDOT MicroStation Manual, a 350+ page document that covers topics ranging from MicroStation fundamentals to MDOT-specific procedures.
